The AKER programme is based on 7 complementary work packages which are dedicated to:
An efficient public-private partnership and a professional project management;
- The characterization of genetic resources and their exploitation within elite germplasm;
- High throughput sequencing and genotyping ; discovery and monitoring of new alleles;
- The development of new phenotyping tools for medium or high throughput seed-stage and field evaluation;
- The development of new and conventional breeding programmes, and a comparison of their efficiency;
- The development of an integrated bioinformatics system for data storage and analysis;
- A dissemination plan to communicate results to the different stakeholders.
